The number of breweries in the United States has grown in the past few years, making it hard for craft beer lovers to keep up with all the latest trends and openings. Digital coupon books help people stay on top of the trends and openings that not only help people discover the restaurants and breweries in their area or along their journey, but also offers discounts and incentives at each location.

LuminFire helped to expand and enhance customer experience by creating a digital coupon app and smart website. Our expertise in WordPress and custom mobile apps made it a reality.

LuminFire created a custom application that runs natively on Apple iOS and Google Android. The app highlights breweries and restaurants all across the country, and provides a personalized experience, including in-depth brewery information, location and mapping, parking options, unique facts/trivia, and more.

Under the hood, the WordPress website makes use of WooCommerce to power its eCommerce store, selling physical goods along with digital passports. A GraphQL endpoint created using the WP GraphQL plugin provides a way for the site’s data to be accessed via the mobile app. Custom GraphQL queries and mutations were developed to provide authentication, retrieve a list of available restaurants and breweries based on the products purchased, and update the user’s WordPress account with the specials that they’ve redeemed. Pertinent data is stored on the WordPress website so if the user installs the app on a different mobile device they’ll continue to have access to all of the same breweries that were available to them before.

By tapping into the native features of mobile devices using React Native, the app is able to generate a map in either Google maps or Apple maps depending on the device OS. It centers the view on the device current GPS location and then sorts the listings based on their distance from the user using the location info. The app also makes use of the device camera, allowing a user to capture a picture at a brewery and apply a logo overlay to the image. The captured image can then be shared easily on social media.

The brewery listing can also be filtered by name in real time by simply typing into the search field in the app.

LuminFire also built a custom FileMaker app (FileMaker is the #1 workplace innovation platform) to automate the process of creating the printed books by importing data directly from the website and using layouts to generate a PDF. This saves hours of manual work since it eliminates the need to manually lay things out in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator.

If your business needs a custom app or website to bring you more sales, or if you’d like to automate internal processes to make you more effective, productive, and profitable, LuminFire can make it happen. Contact us today to talk about your future solution.
