As a Solutions Engineer specializing in PHP/Laravel, you’ll have the opportunity to work on exciting projects, developing robust web applications that make a real difference to clients. You will be responsible for the full development lifecycle, from concept to deployment, collaborating closely with stakeholders to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure applications.
This is a hands-on role with no management responsibilities, allowing you to focus on what you love – building exceptional software.
Your time will be thoughtfully allocated. We aim for:
- 70% hands-on development and coding,
- 20% dedicated to estimating, strategic planning and design, and collaborative stakeholder engagement,
- 10% for essential meetings.

Consultant Mindset
LuminFire is a consultancy. You’ll be empowered to interact directly with clients. You’ll become comfortable and effective at understanding and discussing business goals, budgets, and timelines with our clients directly or aided by our friendly management team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and Maintain Solutions:
- Design, build, and maintain web applications using Laravel and PHP.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
- Develop APIs, optimize database performance, and ensure application security.
- Perform debugging and testing to ensure code quality and reliability.
2. Collaborate with Teams:
- Work with product managers and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Collaborate with other developers on feature development and issue resolution.
- Contribute to improving internal tools and processes for better efficiency.
3. Stay Current and Improve Applications:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Laravel and PHP trends and best practices.
- Deploy applications to production environments and troubleshoot issues.
- Document development processes to support scalability and future enhancements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional web development experience.
- 3+ years working with Laravel and/or PHP MVC frameworks.
- Strong grasp of software architecture, including database query optimization and caching.
- Strong HTML/CSS/JavaScript skills.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly with non-technical stakeholders.
- Exposure to source control systems such as Git.
- Experience working in an Agile SCRUM environment.
- Familiarity with public cloud platforms like AWS, Digital Ocean, or Azure.
- Disciplined self-starter able to be highly productive both working alone and in collaboration with a team.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Vue, React, Inertia, and/or TypeScript.
- Familiarity with Tailwind CSS or Flux for responsive design.
Additional Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with (or willing to learn) WordPress, WooCommerce, and/or Gravity Forms.
- Ability to work within existing development standards as well as help define new ones.
- Background in client services.
