It seems that the tech press lately is complaining about the iPhone 5 saying things like “The maps don’t work well.” or “It’s smaller and lighter but not that different than the iPhone 4s.” Where’s the amazement at the power of the iPhone 5?

Comedian Louis CK does a routine “Everything’s Amazing & Nobody’s Happy”. His conclusion? Quit complaining and appreciate what you have.

Louis CK says we take technology for granted… We get upset if a phone doesn’t respond in under two seconds. Give it a second! It’s going to space! People try out high speed internet on the plane for the first time…and then it breaks and some guy is all frustrated. How quickly the world owes him something he only found out existed 10 seconds ago! Other people complain that they had a terrible flight…it was the worst day of their life because they sat on the runway for 40 minutes. What happened then? Did they fly through the air incredibly like a bird? It’s amazing! Everybody should be going ‘Wow!’ You’re sitting in a chair in the sky! Delays? New York to California in 5 hours…That used to take months!

Saturday Night Live did a very funny skit last week about the iPhone 5 pitting tech writers across from the people from China that assembled the phone in the factory.

So quit your whining! Maps is a little disappointing for now to some people. Everything else is amazing!

The iPhone does so many things that I’ve totally lost track of it! If I needed to carry all those devices around with me I’d need a dolly! Now it’s in my pocket! My iPhone 5 is truly pure magic. It is amazing. It replaces the following things:

Oh…and it’s also a Phone! If you have a question or need to measure something, likely the answer is in your pocket if you have an iPhone. You can even talk to the thing and most of the time it UNDERSTANDS you…or at least gives you an amusing response.

The other day I was looking for my iPhone on my desk when I realized it was already in my pocket ready to go. It’s so small I didn’t even know it was there! The iPhone has changed the way I do life…and made me more productive, effective, and profitable. I can never be bored with my iPhone…If nothing else I’ve got the text of thousands of books with me to read!

So if you’re complaining, Get a life! Get some perspective.
