The FileMaker Developer Conference is coming up later this summer July 24-27, 2017 held at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort in Phoenix, Arizona.
Our team of LuminFire developers will be going to learn about the latest FileMaker and web development techniques and products. There will be several days with over 1,500 other developers from all around the world. We’ll have a chance to talk directly with the engineers that build FileMaker to get the inside scoop on how things work and what the future holds.
We believe this conference is so vital that we’ve attended it faithfully for the last 15 years. We wouldn’t miss it for anything because it provides our clients and our team with so much value.
- Seeing the HISTORY of FileMaker shows a consistent dedication to improving the product and building a solid platform to build on.
- Seeing the PRESENT world of FileMaker makes it possible to utilize the best of breed products and technologies to make your business more effective.
- Seeing the FUTURE of FileMaker helps us to make development plans that make the best use of your resources.
We recapped last years Devcon 2016 here. We had several speakers from our team at DevCon talking about GIS/FileMaker and WordPress/FileMaker. We were also interviewed by David Clark.
If you have anything you’re contemplating in new technology related to your FileMaker database or business, let us know and we’ll keep an eye out for it…be it bar coding/RF ID tags, mobile apps on iPads/iPhone, web integration, credit card processing, or bionic leg control. :)
This year we will be sharing our latest WordPress FileMaker integration solutions with BrilliantSync at the conference at a vendor session and our LuminFire tradeshow booth.
We will have several team members working with other FileMaker experts at the DevCon “Visionary Bar” at the FileMaker vendor showcase. This is the FileMaker version of the Apple Genius bar. We’ll be there to offer free advice and troubleshooting assistance.
One of the great things about DevCon is that it’s usually held somewhere extremely hot in the middle of the summer…Palm Desert, Miami, San Diego, San Antonio, Las Vegas, and this year in Phoenix. That way, all the developers can work on their tans in between sessions.
For developers that would like to see the history of FileMaker and DevCon as well as keep track of their DevCon history, we’ve created a FileMaker database to track all past events going back to the first “FileMaker DevCon” in 1996.
Download the updated free database HERE. It includes a timeline of FileMaker history, tips for devcon, news about FileMaker, etc. Info like the location, theme, and attendance numbers of previous DevCons as well as some subjective info…such as the “Lazy River Rating” is right there for you. If you have any additional information, corrections, or details to add feel free to send them to us and we’ll update the master.
If you plan to attend DevCon, be sure to see our critical tips and ideas for enjoying DevCon for getting the most out of it for newcomers and veterans.
This year the first day of DevCon is a training day…and a separate registration from the main 2 days of DevCon. Here’s a description of the sessions available. The full DevCon schedule is posted here.
The JW Marriot is one of the most beautiful locations for Devcon. We’re really looking forward to this exciting event. See the maps below for some initial resort information.
