At our June, 2021 FMPUG-MN (FileMaker Pro User Group Minnesota) meeting, we had time for two of our 3 planned presentations.

Tim Cimbura talked about a new BrilliantConnect (formerly fmFlare) (BrilliantImageEditor) that enables powerful editing of images within FileMaker without needing another external app like Adobe PhotoShop, Affinity Photo, or Lemkesoft GraphicConverter.

Matthew Dahlquist talked in-depth about techniques for writing scripts with modular abstraction. He demonstrated some very useful and helpful methods in a step-by-step manner starting simply with FileMaker directly, moving to globals/script, and then abstracted with window handling, edit/read, and validation.

Matthew provided the following sample file you can use to follow along and test the techniques on your own;

We ran out of time for Bill’s presentation, so it was moved to the next month.
